2021 OCTOBER BUJO THEME – MOVIES/FILMS: THE ONE NOT TO BE MISSED

by | Sep 29, 2021 | BULLET JOURNAL, SELF CARE | 0 comments

October is finally here, which also means fall has officially in (Not that it matters in Sunny Singapore, where I’m from).

This month would have been a month where we’ll be catching up on so many Halloween related movies. The movies and series that I am looking forward to the most are the old Disney Channel shows – anyone?

This is why this month, I’ve opted to have a movie/film theme! As always, it is inspired by countless creators on Pinterest and Instagram.

WHAT I USED IN THIS SPREAD

I decided to keep it very simple in this spread as well. I’m slowly liking this monochromatic look of my spreads. What do you think?

  • Mechanical Pencil (Pilot 2020 Super Grip 0.5) and Eraser for draft work
  • Pigma Micron (01)
  • Uni-Ball Signo DX 0.38 in Black (My favourite pen of all time!! I always carry one everywhere I go)

This month, I’ve chosen to go without the ruler. Getting brave and bold, I know.

1. COVER PAGE

There is no other thing apart from the clapper board that reminds you of the movie and tv series productions. I don’t know what it is about the clapper board, but I find so much joy in just slapping it down. Even if it does hold its own purpose, I just want to have fun with it.

Some of the details are included as per October’s “film”. As Shakespeare put it, “The whole world is a stage, and all the men and women merely actors,” this month is truly one not to be missed.

2. CALENDAR

The calendar for October is back to its simpler form once again because I did not think that I would fill it out in much detail. I’ve chosen to doodle some countdown signs on the top, much like the older films. I thought it would have been fitting as both of them had to do with time. At the bottom of the calendar, I’ve included a movie ticket to denote any special events which might happen in the month.

3. HABIT TRACKER

You might have seen this habit tracker from the last few of my spreads. I still love how compact it is, which is why this month, I’ve opted not to change it as well. You know what they say, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.

These are some of the things I wanted to track based on their frequency.

MONTHLY: Period | Change Sheets | Dental Appointment (I’m wearing braces so this is essential) | Review my month

WEEKLY: Blog Post | Job Applications | Social (Head out with friends or even all by myself) | Research (There are a few things which I need to learn more about before I make certain decisions so this is included here)

DAILY: Diary (As frequent as I can write) | Water Intake (At least 1.5 litres ) | No Snack (after 9 pm) | Workout (15 minutes stretches) | Words of Affirmations

4. WEEKLY

I’ve gone for an even simpler weekly spread this month. Does this remind you of the billboard which is outside the American theatres in small towns? Instead of having it horizontal, I’ve used it vertically to show the days of the week. The spaces on the side are left to plan for the week. Unlike my previous spreads, this layout is repeated for both sides of the week. I must say, I love how this simple spread turned out – with the lopsided “G” and all. Does anyone struggle with the “G” which trying out this style of font too?

5. MOVIE AND TV SHOW TRACKER

And there is my favourite spread of October, the movie and tv show tracker. This spread is was inspired by the rolls of film which is used to capture images in the OG film cameras. So, in the past, we used to take photos and bring the rolls of film to the photo shop to have them developed. Definitely lots of nostalgia with this.

6. MEMORIES AND MUSINGS

Finally, the spread that I look forward to filling up month after month, the memories and musings. One of the reasons why I’ve decided to keep this spread every month is because I love to look back at the month and see the things I have done. If I have the time, I would want to even sort out the images of the month and put them into my BUJO, on this spread.

But typically, I would just fill them out with words, of all the memories that I have made and even reflection for the month. The little doodle here was inspired by the ending credits of the Black and White films. I remember seeing them on Looney Tunes. I really love how vintage it looks. The TV is definitely also the ancient ones with the huge lump behind the TVs, nothing like the flat screens that we have today.

And there you have it, October’s spread that was largely inspired by film and movies. I’ve also opted to change the editing and photo shooting for this spread. What do y’all think?

I hope that it has inspired you to get your journals and start creating! What is your October BUJO theme?
