2021 SEPTEMBER BUJO: HARRY POTTER THEME

by | Aug 25, 2021 | BULLET JOURNAL, SELF CARE | 0 comments

Welcome back to my monthly BUJO! Can you believe that it is already the end of the 3rd quarter of 2021! I still can’t fathom how time passes so quickly.

This month is all about heading back to school – hence, I’ve opted for the wizard/ Harry Potter theme for this month’s theme. I thought it would be fitting.

It was inspired by countless creators on Pinterest, I’ll include the credits whenever possible!

WHAT I USED IN THIS SPREAD

I decided to keep it very simple in this spread as well. I’m slowly liking this monochromatic look of my spreads. What do you think?

  • Mechanical Pencil (Pilot 2020 Super Grip 0.5) and Eraser for draft work
  • Pigma Micron (01)
  • Marvy Uchida Drawing Pen (005)
  • Ruler

1. COVER PAGE

As mentioned earlier, this month’s spread is the Harry Potter theme. So I’ve chosen to doodle this castle.

The typography I’ve chosen this month is this cursive font for the titles and use my typical handwriting when filling out the details.

I think it is beginning to become a trend for me because this month’s theme is also in this monochromatic colour. I actually like it this way. TBH, I think I’m lowkey afraid to mess up if I added a colour that I don’t like. Does anyone else have the same thoughts?

2. CALENDAR

Yes, I am back with the big calendar this month because I know I have a ton of things I want to get done this month! I’ve also wanted to try out something new, using this calendar.

How I will use this calendar: I’ll write the 3 things that I must complete that day and plan my days around those tasks. I think it would help to streamline and focus on the things I have to do, instead of doing the small things – thinking that I am productive when the actual fact is that I am not.

I’ve also included on the side a master to-do list for the month. They are more or less the big tasks which I hope to accomplish this month. Hopefully, I don’t have to fill out all 13 of them…

The quote that I’ve chosen for this month is “Being different isn’t a bad thing. It means that you’re brave enough to be yourself “- Luna Lovegood. I swear she is one of the most underrated characters in this franchise. I interpret this quote in two ways. Firstly, by going about a different way in your life, different from others and being brave enough to try out what others are afraid to try. It definitely requires a lot of courage. Second, by being true to yourself and ignoring what others have to say. That requires a lot of courage as well. As the saying goes, haters gotta hate. I think it is important that we remain true to ourselves and if that is being different from everyone else, then screw them!

3. HABIT TRACKER

This doodle was inspired by @meghanmakingstuff. I’ve always wanted to go on a steam train like this that will bring you across the country. Has anyone tried the ones in Scotland where they filmed the movie?

Again, this is very similar to the habits that I’d like to track from the last few months.

These are some of the things I wanted to track based on their frequency.

MONTHLY:

Period | Change Sheets | Review my month | Dental Appointment (I’m wearing braces so this is essential)

WEEKLY:

Blog Post | Social (Head out with friends or even all by myself) | My business (Which is now officially launched and you can check it out at mondayblossomdesigns) | Research (There are a few things which I need to learn more about before I make certain decisions so this is included here)

DAILY:

Diary (As frequent as I can write) | Water Intake (At least 1.5 litres ) | No Snack (after 9 pm) | Workout (15 minutes stretches) | Daily Affirmations

4. WEEKLIES

This is by far one of my favourite spreads. Although it is very simple, I love how functional everything is and it leaves plenty of space for me to fill in the details of the things that I plan to do that day. I’ll definitely be transferring the tasks which are listed in my calendar over to this page here. The difference is that I’ll be providing each with more details – such as breaking the tasks down etc.

One item was chosen to represent each week of September. Week 1 – Scarf which is essential during the school term at Hogwarts. Week 2 – The flying key. Week 3 – Owls. Week 4 – Love Potion. Week 5 – The Golden Snitch.

I’ve also chosen to focus on 4 things this month, similar to last month – Blog (denoted by .COM), Business (denoted by MBD)(@mondayblossomdesigns), My Journals IG (denoted by RJ) and my Job Applications (because I am a recent college graduate) (denoted by JA).

5. HUFFLEPUFF PAGE

OMG this spread took the longest to create in this month’s spread but I am so proud of the result!

If any of you are interested in learning how to draw the emblems of the respective houses. This is where I learnt to draw the Hufflepuff crest. He was super great at teaching as his instructions were very clear. The step by step really helped to form the whole image together. But I’ll put a disclaimer out there – you need to be very patient in your drawings.

The things that I’ve included in this list are:

  • Founder
  • House Colours
  • Animal
  • Element
  • Common Traits of Hufflepuffs
  • My Wand
  • My Patronus

I’d love to hear what house you are from! Comment down below!

6. MEMORIES AND MUSINGS

I simply love the quote “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good”. It is super cheeky and I just love it! I thought that it would be fitting to include it down here because of some memories that I might have created along the way in September. Hopefully, it is not as cheeky as what this quote suggests!

I’ve decided to combine both of these memories and musings because I realized that I tend to merge my memories and what I learn/ reflect on it together. So, it makes more sense to put them together and just keep writing & reflecting.

And there you have it! My BUJO spread for the month of September. I hope it has inspired you to grab your journals and start creating!
