2021 JULY BUJO: ICE CREAM THEME

by | Jun 30, 2021 | BULLET JOURNAL, SELF CARE | 0 comments

Can you believe that we are going into the final 6 months in 2021?

Since it is now summer, and extra hot in Singapore. My main inspiration for my July’s spread is the…

*Drumroll please*

… the ICE CREAM THEME!

What I used:

  • Crayola Supertips (Peach, Pink and Red)
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens (990 and 992)
  • Pigma Micron (01 and 005)
  • Ruler
  • Mechanical Pencil (Pilot 2020 Super Grip 0.5) and Eraser
  • Washi Tape (Pink Polka Dots)
  • Uni-Ball Signo DX (Black)

1. COVER PAGE

This month’s theme as I mentioned above, is the Ice Cream theme. I saw this cute ice cream van on Pinterest and I knew that I had to incorporate it into my spreads.

The main colours that I used for the spreads are the Crayola Supertips and the 2 Tombow Dual Brush Pens. The main colours are pink, peach with hints of brown and beige/cream.

2. CALENDAR AND NOTES

This year, instead of putting monthly goals, I decided to put the notes instead.

I did add a Pink highlight for the “MONTHLY” using the pink Mildliner but chose not to use it for the rest of the spread because it looked a bit artificial compared to the rest.

Just shows that when making your spreads, it is all about experimentation and trial and error. So just be bold and give it a shot!

3. QUOTE

This month, my quote is “You Can’t Make Everyone Happy, You Aren’t Ice cream”.

This quote serves as a reminder that most of the time we should just do what we have to do and what we want to do. Hopefully, those two things coincide. Oftentimes, we try to do things to please others. But the fact is that we can’t please everyone and make everyone happy. So why not just do what you need to do and let the rest work itself out.

By the way, can I just fangirl over how beautiful this ice cream cart turned out!

4. WEEKLY SPREADS

This weekly spread was a simple one. The calendar is in the little left corner. And I decided to experiment with the red markers and I really love how it turned out. So I did it for the next 4 weekly spreads as well.

The days of the week are all highlighted in this peachy pink. The accent of the weekly spread is an Ice cream for each week. So they are ice cream in different cones types, Soft serves, Ice cream scoops with waffle biscuits etc.

Finally, on the right side of the spread, I’ve chosen to focus on 3 things this July. Gone are my courses because I managed to complete all the course that I had in June. Your girl was productive in June, that’s why!

This month, I will be focused on my blog, setting up some business things, and other things unrelated to those categories (such as events to take note of).

5. HABIT

I’ve chosen this July to focus on lesser things this month to help me build up my habits. Especially since I stopped filling up some of the blank spaces and did not want to add more habits for the sake of filling out the empty space. So, I managed to put all my habits on one page from the previous habit spreads. I really like how concise this spread turned out.

I’ve written some of the things I wanted to track based on their frequency.

MONTHLY:

  • Period
  • Check Sheets (I should probably do it more often)
  • Review my month (See Point 6)
  • Dental Appointment (I’m wearing braces so this is essential)

WEEKLY:

  • Blog Post
  • Social (Head out with friends or even all by myself)
  • My business (Shhh…)
  • Read (Hopefully a book per week)

DAILY:

  • Diary (As much as I can write)
  • Water
  • No Snack
  • Workout
  • Daily Affirmations

6. MUSING AND MEMORIES

This page originally did not turn out the way that I wanted it to. Which was why I put some washi tape over it to cover the mistakes before writing the words in. Unfortunately, the washi reflected the light that I was using as I was taking photos of the spreads.

Might not have been how I really like it, but I think it is much better than what I would have done. So I’m not beating myself out over how this turned out.

So the purpose of this is to make a little reflection on what would work and what would not, under “Musings”. Under “Memories”, this is a little catchup of what I did that day and I hope to remember for this month.

And there you have it, my July Spread. Which spread is your favourite this month? What is your July BUJO theme?

I hope this has inspired you to pick up your BUJO and start creating.
