2020 SEPTEMBER BUJO: MINIMALIST THEME

by | Sep 3, 2020 | BULLET JOURNAL, SELF CARE | 0 comments

There you have it, 8 months gone and we’re now entering the 9th month of 2020!!

2020 has indeed been one of the craziest years and it really cannot get any worst.

So with just 4 more months left to plan for, September is the perfect time for you to get your life back on track and fulfill some of those new years resolutions of yours! So what are you waiting for? I hope that you’ll get excited in the month of September!

This month, I have continued to opt to carry forward a few spreads from August since they worked so well for me! From there, I removed and added some other spreads which I hope can be productive for both you and me.

1. COVER PAGE

For my September Cover, I’ve opted for a simple cover page, inspired by @monokromajic on Instagram.

A classy yet simple box with “Sep” is denoted in the corner. So it is very simple to recreate. I would suggest counting the lines if you wish to centralise the box.

2. CALENDAR SPREAD

Similar to last month, I’ve decided to make a simple calendar spread as I don’t use my large calendar often. Any important dates (eg birthdays, special events) can be written at the bottom of the page.

3. SEPTEMBER GOALS SPREAD

On the right side of the page, I decided to put down a goals page for the three main aspects of my life. My Blog is represented by a laptop. Studies are represented by the School building. My business plan is represented by a briefcase. Although I have to say that it doesn’t look like a briefcase at all!

For this spread, I was inspired by @caitlinmariedasilva on Instagram with all the doodles. They are so adorable!

So I’ll be writing some things which I hope to complete this September.

4. EXPENSES TRACKER

My Expenses trackers are formed by 2 things. The Moolah Tracker and the Debit-Credit Tracker.

  1. Moolah Tracker This is a simple tracker that you need to use to annotate your cash and bank account balance at the start of September. The next time you will need to fill the rest of it up is at the end of September. Do note that for your bank account, this is for reference purposes. I would not suggest that you write the beginning and ending balance into your BUJO for safety reasons. Rather, refer back to your bank statements to cross-check with the Debit-Credit Tracker.
  2. Debit-Credit Tracker is one that is to be used every day, keep track of your inflow of money by writing it into your tracker. “Type” denotes where the money is going into or coming out of from either your bank or your wallet (Cash). Do remember to separate your transactions for the cash and bank even if you used both methods on one day.

How to use these trackers together. At the end of the month, start with the beginning balance for the cash and bank respectively. Depending on the inflow and outflow of money according to the type, start to subtract it from the beginning balance.

For example, start with the cash in the beginning. Any expenses or income belonging to the physical exchange of money, subtract or add accordingly to the cash at beginning.

Do the same for the bank.

The ending balance for each should match the ending balances which you should already annotate at the end of September.

If it doesn’t tally, you’ve probably missed out on an expense here or there.

5. WEEKLY SPREAD

For my weekly spreads, this is a simple one filled with a few functionalities.

On top of the spread, there is a table that should be used to remind you of the things that must be accomplished that day.

In the middle of the page, there are 6 boxes that are used to write down a list of things that you have to schedule for later on.

On the sides of the pages, they are used to remind me of my goals for each of those tasks as well as a reminder for important submissions/ events which will be coming up next week.

6. PROJECT SPREAD

This month, since school has just begun, I would like to plan out how each project should go. Therefore, inspired by @caitlynmariedasilva, I decided to make a simple plan for each project and set a deadline for them.

I’ll be attempting to incorporate the plan and adjust it as I go about the month.

This is my first time curating such a plan so I’m really excited to try it out! I’ll let y’all know how it goes next month.

And there you have it. All the tools you need this September to restart your New Year’s Resolutions! What are you waiting for? Let’s get productive!
